Personalize Your Faith

The Christian faith is often a difficult journey. Life, itself, is difficult. However, once someone decides to trust a visible (yet invisible) God, it can make life seem a little more difficult to understand. It’s even the more difficult to be an entrepreneur and a devote Christian because you try to appeal to as many people as you can while yet upholding your Christian integrity. The Christian journey is personal; lonely most of the time. That’s why personalizing your faith is important because at the end of the day, when the lights go out, it’s just you and God!

As a Personalize Your Faith Coach, some have asked: how does someone personalize their faith. I always reassure the person that having faith, or trust, in God is a daily renewal process. It’s not a destination. It’s something that you need daily to endure the negativity and evil that is always present. This renewal process is sort of like gaining a better focus on God’s Will is for your life. To focus your faith, you are also personalizing your faith. When we focus, are senses are heightened and we aren’t easily distracted with the tricks of the enemy.

How can someone focus their faith? The first thing I recommend is facing the truth! Get butt-naked honest with God and self. Ask yourself the tough, open-ended, mind-strengthening questions about life and what you need! Overcome the negativity! Rebuke the limiting beliefs and destroy the root cause of all negativity thoughts that crosses your mind! Calm down but increase consistency! Have you emotional and human moments; get all of that out! That’s complete fine but eventually you’ll need to calm down! However, calming down does not mean stop working your purpose! In fact, you need to increase your consistency in accomplishing your assignments! Unleash a plan of action! Write your vision, give your dreams/goals life, and get to work! It says in James 2:17 how faith without works is dead. Finally, stir up your gifts! Discover your supernatural abilities (spiritual gifts) so that you know where you’ll make the most impact in the Kingdom of God! The Kingdom of God includes several areas of influence, e.g. government, schools, television, etc. Your supernatural abilities help to unleash unlimited possibilities!

His Light and Your S.H.I.N.E.: Overcoming the Fear of Failure

His Light

We are the image and likeness of God. Divine DNA.  Light.  Made with purpose; for the purpose of serving God by serving His creation.

Your S.H.I.N.E.

Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

You weren’t created to hide.  No one will know about you or your business when you allow the fear of failure to stop your S.H.I.N.E.

Show up: your community and the world is waiting for you, your gifts and your business to show up.  Be in the room.  Put in the proposals.  Launch the conference.  Schedule the workshop.  Post the Facebook Ad.  Ask for the business.  Make the offer.  You see where this is going?

Honestly: bring everything that you are; past failures, lessons learned, and experiences to the table.  They are what make you authentically, uniquely you.

Intentionally: stay focused on your goals and vision for your life and business.  Distractions will come but being intentional forces them not to become derailments.

No: if and when something or someone isn’t in alignment with you showing up, honestly, and intentionally, don’t allow it.  Not going to allow it space and time in your life or business.

Excuses: no reason not to move forward.  For every reason or discouragement that comes to mind to keep you from moving forward, write down two reasons “to do” it instead.

Overcome the Fear of Failure

Failure isn’t an option because you already have what you need to be successful in life and business.  Failure is feared because typically denotes that you didn’t succeed, but in truth, it means you’re one step closer to being successful.

No longer allow the grip of the fear of failure keep you from moving forward in life and business.  Your business is simply another way that God in, through and with you may S.H.I.N.E.!

Let me partner with and coach you to reaching your life and business goals.

They are waiting for you… remember that.

We look at our lives, who we are now, and tell God THANK YOU because we KNOW where we’ve come from and who we used to be. But how often do we look at the people who helped to curate us. Rather their contribution was small or great, they were pivotal to our present success.

Imagine where you would be if it wasn’t for that person who wouldn’t let you give up. What about the one who smiled every time you had an idea and told you how great it was? Think about that conversation where they said to GO FOR IT! Or even the one who tried to talk you OUT of it. But really they just gave you extra motivation…

All of these people played a part in getting you to this point. From then to now.

So WHO are you here for? Who is waiting specifically for YOU to help them reach their NEXT LEVEL of clarity and success?

You are CALLED to solve someone’s problem, and to fill the GAP in their life. But what’s getting in your way and giving you quiet resistance?

During this session “Filling the G.A.P.S. : WHO are you here for?” We will break down the word GAPS to reveal how significant you are to your IDEAL CLIENT. Also showing you how to deal with and get past what’s making you resist, by honoring God’s CALL!

Remember…They are waiting for you!

Imagine waking up one morning and realizing that you are repeating the same day as yesterday or that you had somehow gone back in time. How would you feel? What would you do? Would you do something today that you had intended to do yesterday but never got around to it? Would you make different decisions than you did in the past and alter your future? Or would you continue doing the same things you’ve done day after day, year after year thinking that you can’t be anything but what you are now? Unfortunately, there are many women who do just that – go with the status quo and never make a change; because of the “IF NOT FOR” the business has not been started.

It becomes a frightening thought for them because of things that have happened to them in their past and to be honest it happened to me as well.

But I had to ask myself a question that you should ask yourself as well. Who would I be if not for…? For some, it’s the sexual abuse they suffered. Or the abortion they had. Or the divorce they went through. Or the bullying they endured. Or the premature closing of the business you worked so hard for. No matter what the issue understand that God can use the scars of your circumstance for His good. Had I not asked myself that question and allowed God to use me I wouldn’t be in the position of helping individuals realize their entrepreneurial dreams.

If Rosa Parks had not asked herself that question and allowed God to use her she wouldn’t have stood for her rights by sitting in the front of the bus. If Mary hadn’t asked herself that question and allowed God to use her she wouldn’t have become the mother of Jesus Christ.

You’re probably saying to yourself that these were great women but remember that greatness begins with just one step and one decision. Are you ready to take that step today? Are you ready to find out who YOU BE?

Creating Partnerships For A Successful Business

Partnerships are the lifeline for every successful business and should be at the top of the list.

Have you heard of the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child”?  Well, the same thing applies to your business.  It’s going to take collective ideas, relationships, and community support to help you along your business journey.  The key is knowing who, when, and how?

We must know who to partner with, when’s the right time to partner, and how the partnership will benefit all parties involved.

Before getting started, know what you want to gain from a partnership.  Know your mission, vision, target market, and how you want to be viewed by the public. Have your short and long term goals and expectations written down clearly for your business. If you need help, ask for it.  Find a mentor who can guide you through this process.

Next, be open and ready.  Get out there and interact with others.  Share your business through networking opportunities, social events, and social media. Interact with others as much as possible. People will be drawn to those who they can relate to, who they can trust, and those who are approachable.  Be confident in yourself and in your business and share your mission every chance you get.  Eventually, people will be drawn to you and will want to do business with you.

Reconnect with those you have developed an interest in and learn more about their business.  Develop a working relationship and find out how you can help one another.  You may decide to partner together for future projects or simply become a referral base for one another.  It is important to sit down and discuss what the expectations are for all parties involved to make sure the you all have the same end goal in mind.

The key to partnerships is building genuine relationships with other businesses and community organizations to help expand your market.  You can also exchange goods and services through partnerships.  You are not expected to know how to do everything.  If marketing is not something you are good at, partner with a marketing firm.  If you need help building a website or new logo for your business, partner with a graphic designer or professional branding coach.  If you are continuously building business partnerships, you will not need to look far to get your next big project completed because they will be a phone call away.

Where will YOU start?

Having over $92,000 in personal debt gave me the motivation to create consistent profit in my direct sales business so that I could direct those earnings towards reaching our goal of paying that debt off in less than 4 years.  Muddling through that experience taught me three things that will forever change the way I approach the financial side of my business; 1) Managed money really does work harder, 2) If you don’t know how to make your money behave, then no matter how much of it you bring in, it will never be enough, and 3) when managed well, your business will prove to be a blessing to your financial situation rather than a burden.

So where do you even start when it comes to creating a well-financially-managed business?

Well, there are several tips worth mentioning, but my number one go-to piece of advice is to start WHERE you are with what you already HAVE!  Did you know that some of the greatest businesses were started in someone’s garage or on a little card table in the corner of their bedroom? You don’t need a fancy storefront or the newest computer, or even a nice desk to create a wildly successful business.  (You WILL need time, persistence, and a strong work ethic, so don’t get discouraged if your business doesn’t take off immediately.)  If you are being called to create a business, take inventory of the resources you already have available to you.  Get creative…you’d be amazed at what you can accomplish with the tools you already own.  For example, if you would like to open a bakery someday, don’t get wrapped up in finding the right location or that super fancy limited edition mixer (although it really is pretty!).  Instead, buy some ingredients, grab the mixer you already own, and begin to bake.  Now go and sell a few cupcakes.  (And if no one buys those cupcakes you’ll be really glad you don’t have a brick and mortar rent to pay!)  But your cupcakes are FANTASTIC, so OF COURSE people will buy them.  And when they do, keep that money aside and begin to save for bigger, better tools.  This approach will help you create a low-risk (and oftentimes debt-free) business, leaving space in your brain to worry about more important things…like which flavor of frosting goes best with your new cake recipe!

Business Centered in Love

Love and Trust

Your mission, vision, and values are the core of your business. Everything you do will have roots in these three things, and for that reason it so important that love and trust are incorporated into your foundation. There are two things we will establish before we go through developing your mission, vision and values:

  1. Love needs to be at the center of any business
  2. We do not own our business, God does

According to Christ there is no commandment greater than love, and yet so many of us do not even consider how to love when we create our business. Whatever industry you are in, there is no doubt that you have been blessed with the gifts to succeed. It says so in 1 Corinthians 12, but in chapter 13 it says that we are nothing and we gain nothing without love.

Is love your purpose?

If you are participating in this conference, then God has given you a vision and an opportunity to share His love for the world using your unique talents. Do not let this confuse you! Though it may be your opportunity it is God’s business.

No matter what industry you are working in there will be a moment where you will want to take credit for success instead of giving that glory to God. When that moment comes your reaction will show you what is most important to you. Remember “let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Mission, Vision, and Values

Now that we have centered ourselves in love, and have submitted ourselves to God’s will, we can begin to craft our mission and vision statements and the values of our business.

Your mission is concise statement that delivers the purpose and intention of your company. It will highlight the product and illuminate the goal you hope to achieve.

Your vision is a powerful way to share God will achieve through you. It is statement of the direction you are going and where that direction will lead to. A God given mission may be scary because often times it is bigger than you believe you can handle. It is ok, that’s a good thing.

The values chosen will embody the character of your business, and in turn will reflect upon your individual character. You want impactful words and that bring no question about your brand.
